Rare Vintage China Art Deco. 6 Piece Hazel Chintz Breakfast Set. This full set is a rare art deco vintage treasure! This complete 6 piece breakfast set includes a Teapot with lid, tea cup, toast rack, sugar bowl and a milk jug/creamer.

Cup diameter excluding handle: 8cms (3 1/4 ins). Cup height excluding handle: 6.5cms (2 5/8 ins). Tray diameter: 22cms (8 1/2" ins) x 25.5cms (10" ins). Teapot Height excluding lid: 8cms (3 1/4 ins).

Teapot length handle to spout: 13cms (5 ins). Milk Jug length handle to spout: 7.5cms (3 ins).

Milk Jug Height: 5cms (2 ins). Sugar Bowl diameter: 4.5cms (1 3/4 ins). Sugar Bowl Height: 2.5cms (1 ins). Toast Rack: Length: 7.5cms (27/8" ins) x Height: 5cms (2"ins). The set has the much admired. Black Hazel Chintz pattern with bright painted pink and yellow roses, yellow daffodils, white narcissi and edged with lilac tulips and purple wisteria. The set is a vintage original and would be placed around the 1930s Art Deco era, made in England. This is a stand out set, especially as the condition is almost mint! All the items are in generally excellent vintage condition commensurate for age. Some normal age related wear and crazing to be expected. The set does look to have spent most of it's life in a display cabinet and hardly, if ever used.. A few small dark spots to the insides of some of the items, quite minor.

The inside to all items is generally clean, not discoloured. No chips, fractures, major discolouration or other damage. Fine crazing is confined to the cream under and insides and does not affect the beautiful pattern at all. The pattern and gold gilding is all in top notch order. The exceptional condition of the set and it's rarity is reflected in the price..

This complete set is a rare item... Some lucky person will snap this up! Verall the breakfast set presents exceptionally well.. Royal Winton Grimwades, mainly known for their chintz patterns, was founded by the Grimwade brothers in the late 1880's and continues to this day, with the company merging into various takeovers, but retaining the name.

Marguerite was the first chintz pattern produced in the late 1920s. Chintz patterns were often named after girls names (Eleanor, Esther, Florence).

Many more popular chintz patterns were created such as Summertime, Sweetpea, Majestic and Royalty to name a few.. The set will be carefully packed and insured (at no extra cost) before posting.
