Six piece 19th century dessert set. All hand painted historic scenery plates of The British Isles. Lochs and ancient ruins of abbeys, churches, and castles. Most are marked with the name of the place written on the back. Borders in jade green with gold trim.
Copeland mark pre-dates Copeland Spode. Marked pattern number D1859, impressed FF. Registration date 1852, but we believe this is the molds and the decorating was done after 1857, likely 1859.1 High compote 9 1/8" across, 5 1/4" high. 1 Low compote 9 1/8" across, 3 5/8" high. 4 Dessert plates 8 7/8.
