A magnificent "Hunting Scene" dinner set by Crown Staffordshire, serving 12 places. This set features a classic hunting scene pattern with vibrant colors and intricate details. Decorated with a hand-painted spiral design used by Royal Staffordshire pottery from the 1930s. The design spirals down the body and again around the lid, depicting horse riders in traditional hunting garb, hunting dogs and a fox chasing along a path past a red roofed house.
The design, always popular with horse lovers and riders, has also been used more recently by Coalport and Wedgwood. The pot is stamped with the green Crown Staffordshire mark used since the 1930s to the base. The set includes 88 pieces in total, enough to serve 12 people and more, and is in excellent condition, with no cracks, repairs, chips, or crazing, except for some minor wear consistent with age. 12 dinner plates, appox 10.3/8 diameter (minor scratches and utensil marks, in the center and minor trim wear, 1 plate has flea bite to the edge). 12 salad plates, 8 3/8 diameter (1 plate has a tiny chip to the edge). 12 fruit bowls, 5 diameter. 12 bread and butter plates, 6 1/4 in diameter. 8 footed teacups, 3.5" diameter x 2 3/4" height. 4 flat teacups, 3.5'' D x 2 1/4'' H. 12 saucers, 5.5 diamete. 1 large pitcher, 7.5'' Hx 5'' D. 1 covered vegetable bowl, 11'' (handle to handle) x 8'' w x 4'' deep (without the cover).1 covered butter / muffin dish, 8'' D. 1 vegetable bowls, 10 L x 6 3/4'' W x 2 1/4'' H. 2 oval platter, 14" x 11". 1 gravy boat, 7.5'' L x 4'' W x 6'' H, with a under plate (unattached).

All pieces are stamped with the Crown Staffordshire logo and the "Hunting Scene" pattern name. The majority of this set does not have any cracks, repairs, chips, or crazing. However, the dinner plates show signs of use with minor scratches in the center and minor trim wear. One plate has a flea bite on the edge and one salad plate has a tiny chip on the edge.The remaining pieces are in excellent condition, showing minor wear due to age.
