Set of 9 Gorgeous Antique MINTON Ripon Purple & Pink 10-1/4 Dinner Plates made in ENGLAND. These beautiful antique plates are by the renowned English ceramics firm MINTON. They are quite detailed with a pink band, purple scrolls and floral swag along the rim with a plain white center. The back stamp has the classic magenta crown and the "Minton" globe mark within laurel leaves that was in use between 1912 and 1950.
The mark includes the word ENGLAND but not "Made in England" suggesting that these plates were produced around the earlier part of the time period. They also belonged to a friend's paternal grandparents who were married in 1920 furthering the date of production to be about that time as it has been suggested that these very plates were wedding gifts. The design is called RIPON. These antique dinner plates are in excellent condition for their age - with no nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs.
There are very faint utensil marks in the center of the plates that can only be seen when held up to bright light. Please check all the photos carefully as they are an important part of the description.
