Wedgwood Florentine Coffee Set Dimensions are approximately: Cup diameter excluding handle: 5.5cms (2 3/8" ins) Cup height: 5.5cms (2 3/8" ins) Saucer diameter: 12cms (4 3/4 ins). Sugar Bowl diameter: 10cms (4 ins). Sugar Bowl height: 7.5cms (3 ins). Creamer height excluding handle: 10cms (4 ins). Creamer length handle to spout: 10cms (4 ins) This elegant espresso size coffee set was produced by established English china company Wedgwood.

The coffee set is decorated with the Florentine pattern in brown on a dark blue background and features Dragons within a neo classical design. Dark blue trims and brown quatrefoils complete the set... Attention to detail has contributed to a superb and desirable design. As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... Pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up.

The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time. Condition: The set is in generally excellent vintage condition commensurate for age and use.

One saucer has a slightly discoloured area to the white center with fine crazing (see last photo), all other items are very good. One cup has a faint brown spot to the interior. Very occasional and minor crazing here and there, nothing to spoil the set and hardly noticeable... Pattern and blue trims all great... Patronage from Royal clients included Queen Charlotte, George III's consort.

After delivering the Queen's order, Wedgwood got her permission to call his goods'Queensware. His new innovation was the Classical style inspired by excavations of ancient Greek and Roman sites. Combined with an earthenware material he developed known as jasper ware, this produced the blue & white cameo items that are commonly associated with Wedgwood.

The brand still conveys a sense of tradition and is associated with other prestigious companies such as Waterford and Royal Doulton. Items are just as collectable today as in the past..
