Wedgwood Set of 5 Salad Plates 8 1/8 White Bone China No Trim 1962+ England. Exquisite Decorative Set of 5 WEDGWOOD 8 1/8 SALAD PLATES pattern WHITE. NO Trim, from England in 1962+. DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful set of 5 salad plates 8 1/8 diameter in the White pattern.
The simplicity of these plates makes them the perfect accent to fill out so many patterns. We have 2 sets of 5. The first set has the mark on all 5 plates of the plate labeled 1st Group.
The second set has the mark on all 5 plates of the plate labeled 2nd Group. CONDITION: The condition of this decorative salad plate set is superb, even though it is classified as used. This would make great display set or a functional set to use everyday.
We can find no manufacturing defects or damage. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, scratches, rubbings or hairlines. There are very, very light short utensil scratches in center of plates, visible only in bright light when held at the right angle. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this is.DIMENSIONS: The salad plates have a diameter of 8 1/8" and a height of 3/4". In 1989, the company was part of the Waterford Wedgwood Plc. By March 2009, KPS Capital Partners had placed Wedgwood into a group of companies known as WWRD (Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton). On 2 July 2015, the acquisition of WWRD by Fiskars Corporation, a Finnish maker of home products, was completed including the brands Waterford, Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Royal Albert and Rogaska. The acquisition was approved by the US antitrust authorities.
The plates in the 1st Group have the mark cited in Geoffrey A. Godden's Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks as mark #4098 used starting in 1962. The plates in the 2nd Group have the mark cited by the website marks4ceramics as mark #57 that is the newer Wedgwood mark used circa 2000+. Production of this White pattern by Wedgwood started in 1962 and is still active today. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
