The second set has the mark on all 5 plates of the plate labeled 2nd Group. CONDITION: The condition of this decorative salad plate set is superb, even though it is classified as used. This would make great display set or a functional set to use everyday.
We can find no manufacturing defects or damage. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, scratches, rubbings or hairlines. There are very, very light short utensil scratches in center of plates, visible only in bright light when held at the right angle. The plates in the 1st Group have the mark cited in Geoffrey A. Godden's Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks as mark #4098 used starting in 1962. The plates in the 2nd Group have the mark cited by the website marks4ceramics as mark #57 that is the newer Wedgwood mark used circa 2000+.
